In 2020, my wife and I received the exciting news that our little family was growing. At the time, I was traveling frequently for work, but with this new chapter on the horizon, I wanted to step back from the constant travel and be home more often. As fate would have it, COVID-19 was just beginning to take hold, and as the world shut down so did my travels. This unexpected shift allowed me to be more present at home and gave me the chance to reassess my priorities in work and life.
I've always had a knack for mechanical work, so while our daughter napped, I began flipping small engines and lawn equipment as a hobby. This soon led to a random collection of pressure washer parts and engines, sparking a deeper interest in the machinery.
As I dug into researching brands and quality parts, I realized there was a bigger opportunity at hand. What started as tinkering with pressure washers gradually evolved into a side hustle and eventually the idea of starting my own pressure washing business. Though I’d used pressure washers before, I quickly discovered there was much more to learn on the business side. Immersing myself in the industry initially led to some analysis paralysis, but with time, I figured out the essentials. Officially launching the start of Ohio FloMo.
